Lest We Forget – Hamilton Remembrance Day Services
In recognition of Remembrance Day, Hamilton will honour and remember our veterans, and all who served Canada during war, armed conflict and peace. The public is invited to join Veterans at services and parades planned across the city on Sunday, November 8 and on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
2015 also marks a new milestone with the opening of Veterans Place at Gore Park in downtown Hamilton. The Cenotaph, dating to 1923, has been re-positioned and surrounded by a series of memorial enclaves and walls illustrating the meaning of military service to our community and country since the First World War. For the first time, the annual downtown Hamilton Remembrance Day service will be held amongst these images.
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) is offering free rides to veterans in uniform on November 8 and 11 for bus travel to and from Remembrance Day services.
